Men behaving
badly…
Recently on a
Saturday afternoon I was relaxing, watching a little TV and sipping
some fresh squeezed orange juice. I was completely relaxed,
pleased at the week I’d just completed and the number of patients I
was able to help. Then
all of a sudden, it appeared on the screen. It was a press conference
with a famous boxer who was behaving badly. He was swearing, he was
rude, he was crude, and he was out of control. As I was watching this I
found myself yelling at the television…
“…He
has a subluxated mind!!!
He has a subluxated mind!!!”
Thankfully, no
one was around to witness my somewhat enthusiastic reaction. Unfortunate for the boxer,
millions viewed his outburst.
What is a
subluxated mind? When
an individual has a subluxation (misaligned vertebrae) it can effect
how that person feels and thinks. It can thus effect how the
person acts.
How?
No one is
going to deny the fact that “pinched” nerves from a “broken” neck
can cause complete paralysis of the arms and legs, but many people
are not aware of the fact that nerves irritated by misaligned
vertebrae can also cause dysfunction of the internal organs and
systems. Certainly this
can affect the way a person feels.
A Chiropractor
recognizes the cause and effect relationship between pinched nerves
in the spine and disease, both acute and chronic, and sees that the
human body can rid itself of pain and disease when interference with
normal nerve function is removed through chiropractic
adjustments.
By properly
aligning the vertebrae, chiropractors help optimize a person’s
health because everything is flowing properly. The way the spine is
designed is a phenomenal thing. It incorporates flexibility,
strength and resilience in its critically important role of
protecting the spinal chord and nerves. However, the spinal cord is
also susceptible to the strains and stresses, bumps and knocks of
everyday living. This
necessitates professional attention by a Chiropractor who provides
maintenance and care. A
Chiropractor is a NERVE SPECIALIST. In fact, a typical
Chiropractor receives 320 classroom hours in Neurology, the study of
the nerve system, compared with 112 hours for a typical medical
doctor.
I’ve got to
tell you...I think Chiropractic is the coolest thing in the
world! I mean, I get to
help people everyday to improve the quality of their lives. You see, I have the
opportunity of helping sick people get well, of helping people
improve their physical performance (studies have shown those under
chiropractic care may improve their physical performance up to 16.9%
in as little as two weeks.
What would that do for your golf game [and for your life in
general]?). This leads
to my patients eliminating the effects of stress, and enjoying an
increase in their energy.
When you consider all that, I’m sure you can see why I love
doing what I do!
